MCHAP 2018 Awarded to Sandra Barclay and Jean Pierre Crousse

On October 10, 2018, MCHAP Jury President Ricky Burdett CBE, MCHAP Director Dirk Denison, and IIT College of Architecture Dean Michelangelo Sabatino awarded the 2018 Americas Prize to Edificio E, an academic building at the Universidad de Piura by the Lima-based firm Barclay & Crousse Architecture. The winning project creates social space for students to gather on a sprawling campus through an array of structures that respond sensitively to Piura’s dry savannah climate.

MCHAP is a biennial award recognizing the most distinguished architectural project built in the Americas during the previous two years. Sandra Barclay and Jean Pierre Crousse will receive $50,000 in funding toward research and the development of a publication as well as the MCHAP Chair of Architecture at IIT.
